Project Information:

Many comic artists/mangaka worldwide have tackled setting the Word (Referring, in this case, to the Old and New Biblical Testaments) to sequential imagery over the years. Project Testament differs from most of these by quoting the Word verbatim. Most comic projects could not feasibly do this, as only a small handful of artists worked on trying to cover the entire Bible - or at least the New Testament. Project Testament invites as many artists as have the passion and skill for it.
This project also differs in that it is available completely free via the internet. It is our hope that people of all kinds will enjoy and 'get something' from this project - whether Christian or just interested in reading what this "Holy Word" is about. In a sequential art format, not only does the reading feel more 'like fun' to most, but it also helps the reader keep track of the many specific figures in each book as the mind can relate the names to the visuals provided. As this is a main concern in the design of this project, the focus of the character design is not to be historically accurate, but rather, to be memorable and bring out the feel of the character's personality in as many cases as is applicable.

Note though that since this version is verbatim, certain books (for instance, epistles/letters or psalms/songs) may feel more traditionally-illustrated than sequential at times.

Also, there is no set 'style' to strive for. As long as an artist produces professional-quality work, they are welcome to work in almost any look, whether more towards traditional American comic, Japanese manga, Disney-esque, their own style, or what have you. (For more information on how to join this project, refer to the 'Submissions' Section of the above Project Website link.)

That said, we sincerely hope you enjoy Project Testament.
